Artist Statement

My work is diverse. I tend to try everything, whether that be in post production, or videography. I enjoy editing and creating projects behind a computer, but I also enjoy filming. My work consists of interviews, script making, animating, vector drawing, sketching, filming, acting, and directing. I enjoy learning new things to create.

I create my work with multiple programs. These include Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. The programs I use the most are Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premiere Pro. When creating vector drawings, I prefer to first sketch my works on paper and then transfer and create them in Adobe Illustrator. When editing videos, I prefer using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Most of my inspiration comes from helping others around me and the environment. I enjoy helping others around me because I build more connections with people. I love bringing joy to people and making a positive impact on their lives.

Nature is a huge part of my life. As a kid, my dad would frequently take me on hikes in the woods behind our house. My father and I both share the same love for nature. When we were outside together, I had my fondest memories. I’ve grown to love the outdoors and wildlife. As a kid I would tame the stray cats that were deserted by their owners and give them a home. I feel at peace when I’m with them. I often sit outside with them and just listen to the birds call. All of my work comes from the heart. I love doing projects that involve helping people, animals, or nature. When I am older, I want to work on film projects involving climate change and other societal flaws.

My goal as an artist is for my work to make an impact. Most of the pieces I work on I attempt to help someone. In my work in Contemporaries in Black History, I hoped to spread awareness of the individuals in our community creating amazing work. I wanted the audience to know more of the people I was interviewing. In my commercial for the feline sanctuary, I wanted to spread awareness of the cats that were struggling to find a home.

I have learned that in film I have the ability to make a change and help the people around me. Almost everyone in the world watches a movie or show that influences their perspective of the world. A sad ad about dying animals can influence you to help that cause. Film is a huge part of daily life. Whether it be an animated kids show or an informational documentary. I want to enter the film industry because I will have the opportunity to make a difference.
